Howard Fast is maybe lesser known for his small science
fiction output than for his other novels and non-fiction
publications.
He had also joined the communist party in the USA at
the end of WWII, putting him in a rather uncomfortable
sitiation in the years to come.
His novel "Spartacus" was what Stanley Kubrick
based his film on.
