Jack Gaughan is one of the better known science fiction
illustrators, having won a number of Nebula awards in
his day, working mostly for ACE (DAW books), Galaxy
Magazine and also Pyramid Books. He is known for illustrations
of Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" (ACE).
He is also one of the very few illustrators in whose
name an award is granted to emerging science fiction
