The set up sort of reminded me of the setting in "Das
Experiment" by the brothers Strugazki. Not very
long though.
People awaking in a somewhat artificial setting on a foreign
planet. They all have been pulled from the same airplane.
They find out, that they are not alone, that other human
beings from different stages of evolution and different
plnets are present. And they are all locked in by a wall
of fog. Once three of them manage to get through, they
