Content:
Jeff Winston dies in
October 1988. And finds himself alive again in his own
body, 25 years earlier. He can remember everything.
He uses his second chance to lead a better life. With
more money, a different wife ...
And then Jeff WInston dies in October 1988. He finds
himself alive again in his own body, 25 years earlier
...
It happens again and again, but he travels back in time
a little less each time. He asks himself: Who or what
is responsible for all of this? And: Is it happening
to anyone else? And he does indeed find someone ...
Once, they try to make the world be aware of what is
happening to them. They try to use their memory of things
to come to change the world for the better. The opposite
happens.
How does Jeff deal with his continuously shrinking time
spans of reincarnation? Will he die eventually? I don't
want to spoil this for you.
As a reader you will not find out too much about what
is behind those time loops. My interpretation of the
story however is not as dark as the one outlined in
the foreword written by John Grant. There are things
one is not able to change but at the same time there
are things you can change.
I was a liitle disappointed by the fact, that the "Replayers"
are financially independent due to their memory of the
future. Investing in Apple and IBM sure is a good bet,
if you find yourself back in the late sixties again
...
But in the end, all the things you can really change
and might actually want to change have nothing to do
with money whatsoever.
